street art and graffiti has become more mainstream in media be it in a positive and or negative way.
‘Teenagers are ruining this country’. I’m sure this is a thought a lot of you pension have thought but that's not the case. Street art, graffiti and the youth of east London. These subjects have become entwined over the past years which a lot of you may not like. Young people today have become more interested in fine art because of graffiti and with the increased popularity of street art and music artists like rudimental are using the Dalston Peace Carnival Mural in hackney in east London have shown a light on graffiti in a good way. Rudimental are not the only people that the youth of east London are watching and taking inspiration from artists like Cartrian who is a local resident to the east London borough of Leytonstone.
Street art and graffiti has been around for a long time. Teenagers from this generations and past generation have use graffiti as a way of expressing themselves. Some may say that graffiti is bad as it ruins the aesthetic of many areas in east London. Some may also say it makes the areas look trashy and or poorer because of that. The youth of east London may disagree with these statements. As many know youth clubs in East London have been closing for many years now. This leaves the youth of East London to their own devices as people who were in Youth clubs before close said it did keep them out of trouble. Since there is no other way for the youth of East London to express them self-many say that graffiti and street art is needed although it didn’t look very nice.
Famous music Artists like rudimental use graffiti and street art in a positive light unlike the way it's betrayed in the media. Rudimental used the Dalston Peace Carnival Mural in hackney in east London for their album cover for their first album called Home. The use of street art on a album cover not only show how Times are changing and because of that street art and graffiti is now shown as acceptable album cover art it also shows people that the rudimental are born and breed in hackney and where is no better way of showing that other they showing something that has been a part of history in hackney since the 1980’s. Action like these are the reasons why graffiti and street art have been shown in a positive light over the past years. This just shows how graffiti sure be done, in a place where people approve and with great artist how know what they are doing.
“Street art is visual art created in public locations, usually unsanctioned artwork executed outside of the context of traditional art venues. The term gained popularity during the graffiti art boom of the early 1980s and continues to be applied to subsequent incarnations.” Be it good or bad, graffiti and street are here to stay if people like it or not graffiti is a way of expressing yourself and if we were to continue to charge minors for minor crimes like graffiti and street art they we are a community would continue to ruin hundreds of teenagers lives for years with criminal records and the only crimes that they committed was the crime of expression. Graffiti may not always look the best but we are have to agree that you would not like to see your grandson or granddaughter in jail for a petty crime like spray painting something. So when you call for harsher penalty on minors who do graffiti think about your little grandchild being jail. I’m sure that will change you opinion of the matter.

‘The government is wrong’ this is something that a young person is use to saying a lot. It is hard to understand why a bunch of old rich people get to decide what we young people do it’s just wrong. Chocologs advert evaluation
Chocologs advert evaluation
When it came to choosing a genre and what kind of advert we wanted to do it was very hard as we did not know what kind of advert we wanted to products. when we then talked as a group we all though the best thing to do was to do a advert for children of the ages of 8-12 both genders as me and desire both have younger brothers between those ages, so if we need to film with kids we both had kids we could film with. once we knew that the advert was going to be about children we then though about what kids liked and it was not very hard as being kids once before we know that kids love chocolate so we knew that was the right product to do our advert about. we wanted some funny parts in the advert about we did not know how to go about it so we asked our teacher for help to where we would put in humour. once we knew this we got to work doing the pre-production tasks we were able to go ahead and start producing our advert. We had chosen an advert over a music video as we had two choices and the reason for this is because we had done a advert for a previous project therefore was we knew what we had to do and it was easier for us to do also everyone in our class where doing a music video so we did not want to do what everyone was doing.
The purpose of our advert was for it to be funny so when the audience watch it they will laugh at it and will also remember the advert. Moreover the reason why we had decided that we wanted to include a child who was the same age as our audience is so when the audience watch the advert they can feel as if they can relate to what is happening in the advert. The advert was that the boy had sat down to do his math homework but was finding it hard to do it because he did not listen in class when the teacher was talking about the work, so when it came to him doing his work he did not know how to do it because he zoned out. Then he starts remember about a chocolate he had heard about, which magically appears on his doorstep. Once sees it on his doorstep, he has the chocolate and then rushes to go ahead and does his math homework without a problem and then ends up turning hyper and running around the park. The meaning of this advert was to indicate to the audience that everyone does zone out in lesson and doing homework can be very frustrating especially when you have come home after a long day at school however the part where the boy goes ahead and eats the chocolate, then runs around the park indicates to the audience that you need to have a break and it is okay if you go out to the park, but in general you need to de-stress and relax then do what you need to do such as your homework. Overall the purpose of the advert was to promote the chocolate called Chocologs to the audience in a way that the main target audience would be able to put them self in the same place as the actor and would make them want to buy the chocolate as they showed in the advert, if they wanted help with their homework they will have help if they eat the chocolate and as kids are gullible and trusting if will be easier for us to get them to buy it.
Overall
I feel that we did achieve the purpose which was to entertain the audience with
our humour narrative and I also feel that it is good for someone who may have
had a hard day at school which would be the primary audience or stresses from
work which would be the secondary audience which would be considered as
escapism. When
it came to doing the pre-production tasks and filming it was very easy in the
content of that we had already done the documents, booking out cameras and
filming for a previous projects so we were very familiar with what had to be
done however I feel when it came to filming we did not stick to the storyboard.
I have noticed in our previous projects we have always had a problem when it
came to actually sticking to the shots that were written on our storyboard
which meant that we would go ahead write a detail explanation in our evaluation
as to why we did not use the storyboard. This is not the case. We do refer back
to the storyboard however we usually have some sort of issue which means that
we have to film in a rush due to something always happening which is bad
management on our behalf but this just means because we are rushing to get the
content filmed we do not refer back to the shots/angles which were written on
our storyboard. I feel this was not right because if we were in the
professional industry really filming an advert we would of had to make sure
that we would refer to the storyboard because it would very unprofessional if
someone was looking over the work and saw that in the storyboard for example
there was one shot that was mentioned however in the actual media product there
was another shot that was used.
As we were one of the groups who had filmed first it
meant that we were able to use the editing suite when everyone else in the
class was using the lesson time to film. However when it came to editing, we
had uploaded and exported the footage and when it came to re watching the
content it was all blurry. However when it was being filmed it was all in focus
so we tried to change the sharpness and try to make the overall clips less
blurry by using Google research and YouTube tutorials however this did not help
with the way that the overall clips had looked.
We
had decided that we would go ahead and re-film the content. However this was a
bit of a struggle due as the camera we used was not working very well so I had
to get my older brothers camera to film the advert for the second time. Due to
filming a second time in a round it meant that we were not able to use the college
editing suite in order to edit therefore we had used one of our member’s laptop
in order to edit as they had premiere pro which was the software that we were
using. This meant that one member had to go to the others house in the half
term and edit, then upload the video. I felt that all of this could've been
avoided if we were just better with our time. One area I feel that we could've improved on was our
strategy on how everyone managed what had to be done in the content of filming
and editing. I don't feel that the roles were spread out as efficiently as I
thought they could have been. I feel that the pre-production was sorted out
right due to the fact that everyone had done two documents which meant all the
pre-production was done very quickly however I feel if we sorted out who would
do what more efficiency it would mean that we all could've got a turn to film
and edit.
I
feel if we had more time that we would be able to add more effects not only
with the types of edits but with the sound effects that we want to add however
because we were in a rush this was not possible and it would've been nice if it
could've been done.
Different
edits such as the transitions as there was only one main transition throughout
the whole advert
Different
sound effects and not just one that is generically used in many different
humorous adverts
The podcast questions
The podcast questions -What does a hung parliament mean?
Hello, thank you for tuning in to my podcast. This episode we will be talking to the youth and how they think the 2017 General Election went and there opinions the leader of the parties and ask them what a hung parliament is.
Thanks for coming on my show Hamerdeep and Desiree.
Thanks for having us.
I'm going to be asking you some questions about what has gone on in the 2017 general election. And who are the winners and losers in your eyes and how young people like yourselves have got more involved in this election.
Do you know what a hung parliament is?
Well, A hung parliament is declared if no party wins an outright majority by securing more seats than all the other parties combined.
In the UK, a party must win 326 of the 650 seats to secure an absolute majority.
Since 1929 there have only been two UK General Elections that resulted in hung parliaments – in 1974 and 2010.
The General Election in 1992 saw exit polls predict a hung parliament but the Tories held onto a slim majority.
Do you think young people being more involved in the election changed the outcome of the election?
How are the winners and loser of the election in your eye?
As you know Theresa May did not get the majority vote to become leader of the country so there will be another election soon, do you think this is a good thing or a bad thing?

In my podcast I am going to use some music in order to make sure that my podcast is not boring as if it was all talking then the audience will get bored and I also will add music as that is what a lot of podcast do and if I want to make a believable podcast I will have to do the same care of things that really podcast do. if I do this I am more.... and will not fully be engaged with the content that is being said in the podcast. If there is a certain track that I want to use and it has copyright then I will go ahead and email the producer asking them for permission however this may be a long process as I will have to wait for their reply and I do not know how long it will take to get a response from them. If this is the case then I will go ahead and either make a sound effect on the editing software I have got or go onto YouTube and use copyright free music. Furthermore I will be using two different people who will be interviewed in my podcast and I have got them to sign a document in order to state that they are happy being interview and are happy with myself to publish what they have said.
Sound check
As I do not have access to the microphone on the day that I am doing the pre-production I will make sure that when I do get access to a microphone I will first check the sound level and make sure my voice is not going over the peak level which will create distortion in my audio. Once I have tested out the microphone I will then upload the the audio of myself testing the microphone out.

I will Make sure when I am recording to make sure that if there are any wires I will careful where it is placed so people don’t trip over the wire or break the wire or hurt themselves in any way.
When I am in the editing in the suite, I have got to be careful/considerate of my surroundings as the room is very small and there are going to be many people in the room editing at once. Also people could put there bags and things on the floor so I will have to be careful when I am walking around the room.
Be gentle when handling the equipment as it does not belong to me and if I break the equipment I will have to pay. Furthermore there are not many microphones that can be given to us individually so me and my friends will have to share the microphones so that all the other people in the class can also record there podcast.
Be considerate of my surroundings in the content of where I am filming in order to make sure that I aint disturbing anyone if they are recording as well.
Keep the cable of the headphones on the table as someone can trip over them
Make sure to keep an eye on the equipment that has been borrowed such as the microphone as someone can take it

Government cut backs cause teens to resort to a life of crime?
Government
cut backs cause teens to resort to a life of crime?
Tom
Haroldson was a teen who once went to a youth club in his youth and that youth
club was shut down in 2014 by the government. We spoke to him to find out his
opinions on the case of the matter. Tom now 19 years old shares his experience
on going to a youth group and growing up in one of the worst estate in east London
and how this opened him up to go into graffiti and street art.
How do you
feel about your youth club shutting down and how do you think this relates to
teenagers and the increase in graffiti? I hate the government for shutting down
my youth club as many kids and teenagers needed the youth club to be safe and
to be surrounded by people who want better for us. They don't look down on us
because we life in a bad estate they look at us as if where any other kid in
any other kids. I also think that graffiti has been around for a long time and
it has been part of the youth's life. I do think that the youth clubs closing
down has increased but that's because we don't have anything else to do as many
of the kids and teenagers parents are gone because they have to go to work to
make money for us so many of us are left to our own devices.
How has not
going to a youth club affected you and your friends? As i say been, we are left
to our own devices and we needed youth clubs because after school we use to go
to the youth clubs and they knew all the kids in the estate so they knew if the
kids and the teenagers parents are at work they would let the kid stay in the
youth club and the parents would pick them up when they were done with work. Teenagers
only went there because they would give them food and for many people that were
the only food they were going to have all day other than free school lunch.
Since the youth club close down a lot of the kids don't really eat food after
school is done i think that is wrong.
Do you think
that the government cutting cost on youth clubs will affect the younger
generation? I think that it will affect the younger generation as they will not
have youth clubs and if you asks many people who went to youth clubs as kids
and teenagers would tell you that youth clubs are really needed as they have
people who care for you and are a bit like you older brothers and sisters.
Living in one of the worst estate in London doesn't not help so if you have
people in the youth clubs that care for you it's very nice and the younger
generation will see out on that.
Do you think
that graffiti and street art is a great way to distract the youth from doing
worse things such as joining gangs, drugs etc..? I think that it is a great way
to distract the youth from drugs but I am not sure about teenagers Joining
gangs because a lot of people join gangs but that because they have a lot of
time on their hands and a lot of people need to feel like people care for them
because they are not getting it at home. I do think that graffiti helps
teenagers because they are able to express themselves with the street art but I
don't think that it has the power to completely change things but that's why we
teenagers need youth clubs because the people there care about you which is a
change from the way some people treat us.
How do you
feel about the police looking at graffiti and street art as crimes and do you
should be jailed for it? I don't like Way police look down on people who do
graffiti because it is art I don't know why it does look down upon just because
it's not in galleries it is really sad that the Lord is like that I hope that
the laws change where graffiti is legal or at least they set up clubs or maybe
places where people can do graffiti without The dangers of being arrested or
damaging someone's property because I don't think that is right for people to
damage people's properties because they want to do graffiti but I do feel like graffiti
is needed because graffiti is the voice of a generation at the time and I feel
like it is a bit like a time Capsule on what's going on in this generation.
